I know it's officially fall but celebrating Canada's 150th birthday really feels like yesterday. I incorporated a commemorative Canada 150 stamp (that had been affixed to the envelope of a card my granddaughter mailed to me, received on the day I was creating this layout) as an embellishment. I love it when those serendipitous moments occur, don't you?
Welcome to my blog! I am a wife, mother and Nana to two sweet granddaughters. It is a joy for me to capture time spent with my family, or time spent travelling with my husband in the scrapbook pages I create. In late 2016 I embarked on a new creative expression: art journalling! This blog is the place where I share all my creative endeavours.

Gel medium transfer using a vintage photo
I used a photo of my husband's maternal grandmother in this gel medium transfer (she's the woman on the right). After transferring the photo image onto a prepared acrylic background, I added the vintage sign, and did some outlining of the figures and background with a white gel pen, added the quote and called it done! It was a fun way to use vintage black & white photos and something I'll want to try again!
Get Messy's "Transference" workshop
I absolutely loved learning all about gel image transfer technique, via the "Transference" workshop and most happy with this image transfer and layout that I created in this altered book:

Our butterfly girl
After spending a week with my family at a cottage on a lake in Ontario this summer, I printed off a bunch of photos and created a pocket page layouts (not shown here) and this 12x12 layout:
ICAD catch-up
It's been some time since I last posted, and now it's September! I always marvel at how quickly the summer comes and goes! Here's a bit of a catch up of the index cards I completed since I last posted:
